AAS blocks any attempts at keystroke monitoring for absolutely all applications, both trusted and malicious. AAS has the ability to use a flexible set of rules that allow keystroke monitoring for trusted programs and prohibit it for malicious applications.

Keystroke monitoring could be used by many applications. Trusted applications may use this function for hot-key combinations, switching of keyboard input languages, detecting of user's inactivity and so on. Malicious applications, on the other hand, can use this function to steal typed logon names and passwords, credit card and banking data, or private and confidential information.
